Four Lions (Chris Morris 2010)
Chris Morris’ terrorist comedy Four Lions is nowhere near as cutting or scandalous as fans of Brass Eye would hope for. It’s funny, sweet and occasionally touching, but you get the feeling that it may have worked better as the sitcom as it was originally intended to be.
Nice performances and few funny set pieces don’t save the film from being a touch boring in places, and overall it seems like a slightly wasted opportunity. That said, it’ll probably be one of the best British comedies you’ll see all year.
